Cupaniopsis anacardioides
Cupaniopsis anacardioides, the Carrotwood, is an outstanding coastal tree -- genuinely salt-hardy and tolerant of sandy, nutrient-poor soils. Reliable in exposed positions where other species fail. Rounded canopy and glossy foliage provide attractive year-round screening.
Specifier notes. Performs as a street tree where roots, canopy clearance, and longevity all matter. A core species in our screening range, suited to fast establishment of visual and noise buffers.
Site & establishment. Tolerates coastal exposure provided the planting hole drains and soil is not waterlogged. Salt tolerance is high enough for direct salt-laden wind exposure once established.
Cape Nursery production. All Cape Nursery stock is grown 7 km from the Pacific Ocean, hardened to coastal sun and wind from propagation rather than acclimatised at point of sale. Specimens leave us biosecurity-traceable, and root-checked. National delivery is available; collection from Ewingsdale is welcomed Mon–Thu 7:30am–4pm.
